We’ve all been afraid of something. It’s completely normal for our brains to offer something we couldn’t possibly do or try because it’s scary.
This is our brain trying to keep us safe.
This is it’s job.
It happens to every single person on the planet – always has, probably always will.
Keeping us safe was very important as we evolved as a species. We had to be pretty careful to survive. And this practice worked, clearly.
However, today, we have less to be afraid of.
Most of us will never have to worry about our survival. We will have access to food and water. We are not prey to any animals, etc.
But our brain still acts like we are still struggling to survive.
Yet, if you want to grow and if you want more for your life, you need to become more proficient at overcoming fear and doubt.
The good news is that this is completely possible and once you start to practice this skill, it will become easier.
So, what can you do to start moving towards that thing you want?
Recognize and create awareness around doubt and fear; don’t judge yourself for it.
Doubt your doubt. Just because your brain is offering fear and doubt, doesn’t mean you have to believe it.
Know that this is what your brain does. It will offer you the fear and the doubt. That’s OK. It’s normal and nothing has gone wrong.
Commit to your goal. Decide to go for it. This is where all your power is.
Keep going. Keep taking action until you get the results you want.
Generate self-confidence – know you will learn what you need to learn, figure things out, have your own back.
Never give up on yourself. Listen to that nudge that is pushing you for more.
This is how we evolve, grow and expand. Everything – the life you want – is on the other side of that doubt and fear.
You’ve got this.
