Invest in Yourself

Do you invest in yourself?

Up until a couple of years ago, the investment I made in my mind and my life was somewhat limited.

Sure, I bought the occasional self-help book and watched a couple of Ted Talks, but other than that, I never really thought beyond that.

I didn’t really think much about my emotional health and well-being. While I was sort of vaguely conscious of life coaching, I didn’t really know much about it.

When I had worked myself up into such a state, I knew I had to do something differently. That there had to be a better way.

Thankfully there was and I found it with coaching.

The Best Investment

The best investments I’ve made over the past few years is hiring a coach to learn how to manage my mind and my emotions and becoming certified as a coach myself.

These are things we didn’t learn in school. No one tells us there is a better way. That the secret to life and the key to the Universe are all there for us if we know where to find them. And I promise you they are there.

I spent years at the mercy of my circumstances, thinking that if only I lived somewhere else, or had a better job or more money, my life would be better. I would be happier.

The truth is, none of that had to change in order for me to choose happiness now.

And, while you’ve probably heard that advice before, do you know how to actually do that in practice? Probably not. It’s not complicated, but it’s more than repeating some affirmations and it does take practice.

Working with a coach gives you the safe space you need to learn the skills and tools required to feel better, think better and follow through better than you ever have. EVER.

If I could go back in time and tell my 21 year old self anything, it would be to go out and hire a life coach sooner. Immediately. It is that life changing.

It’s Never Too Late

The good news is that it’s never too late to start.

We can learn, we can rewire our brain. We’re never too old.

Investing our mental and emotional health and our brains as a whole, is truly the best investments we can make.

So, regardless of where I go, what I do, and what happens in my life, I have the ability to not only cope with it but to thrive. These are skills and tools that I will never lose. I am calmer, I am focused, I am developing the ability to go after what I want and achieve it. No matter what.

This week, I’m starting Master Coach certification and could not be more excited about it. I know this will help me take my coaching skills to a whole new level. While it will benefit my clients, but it will also have an huge benefit within my own life.

Now, I realise how important it is to invest my time, money, energy, focus and effort on my well being, my emotional and mental health.

I plan on working with a coach for the rest of my life.

I’ve invested in becoming a coach myself. I continue to invest in my coaching skills.

If I could go back and speak to my 21 year old self, I would tell her to hire a coach pronto.

These days, I know I am more relaxed and more focused. I’m actively creating the life I want.

Not only do I feel better, but I think better and follow through better on all my plans and goals.

Because I showed up for coaching, I am making progress in every area of my life and I will continue to do so for THE REST OF MY LIFE.

It wasn’t instant. And it wasn’t easy.

It took time and energy and focus and bravery.

I needed to do some emotional heavy lifting.

Imagine going to the gym every day and lifting the heaviest weight your arms can carry over and over again.

Every rep makes you stronger. Some of those reps aren’t fun. You are sweating and uncomfortable and you just want to go home, but you do one more. Because you know you will get stronger and stronger and healthier and healthier.

Sometimes being coached is like that. Except instead of your body getting stronger, your mindset does.

The way you think changes, and the way you tackle issues in your relationships, career, health, finances changes.

You show up for yourself and the people you love in a way that is super intentional and powerful and loving.

And part of it is fun and part of it is just hard.

Sometimes we need to experience the discomfort of seeing what is holding us back in order to experience the healing that is waiting for us once we open up space for them.

It was hard but not impossible. It was hard but doable. But, there were also moments of such relief and healing, that it made the hard parts easier.

I am lighter and I move with more ease.

It was hard BUT IT WAS WORTH IT.

I got the goal and then some.

And from that space I took that energy and clarity and focus into every area of my life.

What Are You Creating?

I’ve created more love, more confidence and more focus.

What are you creating in your life now?

Imagine if you spent the next 3 months working on, and overcoming all the ways you hold back from being your best, most powerful self.

Imagine being supported by someone who is cheering you on every step of the way.

Imagine what might be possible for you if you invest in your life WAY MORE than you invest in your grooming.
